I wanted to let you all know that due to my mistake, ‘Dr. Strange Beard’ went live today with a placeholder file
The Penny Reid team didn’t double the check the release date when we changed it last month from the 10th to the 30th. This is 100% OUR fault, it is not Nook’s fault! I have let NOOK know about the issue and hope they can help rectify it so we can put Dr. Strange Beard back up for pre-order ASAP.
I’m really sorry about this mistake, there has been a lot going on but that’s no excuse. If you pre-ordered on Nook you should return the book and request a refund. I wanted to apologize again to all my Nook readers for the inconvenience.
Hopefully you see this in time to maybe be able to fix for other countries, but I think a similar thing just happened in iTunes – I’m in Australia and just received an email saying it was available (and of course I downloaded and opened without a brain). Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but I’m wishing you virtual chocolate and wine etc

I spoke with iBooks and they advised me to tell my readers the update the book on July 30th when the book actually releases. That way the book file should update with the correct file. Thank you for your virtual gifts <3

I am also in Australia and have experienced the same thing with iTunes. I started reading it and kept thinking ‘I’m sure I’ve read this…’ I’ve never returned a book via iTunes (can that even be done?) so what do I do now please…..?

It reappeared on nook today (july 12) but NOT as a pre-order. When you open up the preview, it comes up as the marriage of inconvienience place holder

I just got B&N to fix this with a 30 second chat, might be the best customer service experience I’ve had for a while! Looking forward to Dr S when it comes out for real.
