I ‘get’ your heroines, admire their non-conforming quirks and irascible good humour, their persistent refusal to believe everyone’s entitled to be a special snowflake, working hard to get where they want to be, biting their thumbs in the faces of those who would see them fail, relying on their wits and optimism, and never saying ‘I give up’.
