I need a place to document all my adventures in (and tweaks to) cocktail recipes and this blog post is going to be it!
Enjoy, or don’t. Either is cool.
Oh! Also, I’ll be filming some Penny Tries (and teaches cocktails) in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that disappointment.
MAI TAI
2 oz OJ (the juice, not . . . the other kind)
1.5 oz cranberry juice
1 oz golden rum
1 ox coconut rum
1 teaspoon grenadine
Shake over ice, serve with an umbrella.
MARGARITAS! 3, 2, 1
3 oz sour mix (recipe to follow)
2 oz really good tequila (life is too short for crappy tequila and boring stories)
1 oz Cointreau
Shake over ice, serve with optimism.
MANHATTAN
2 oz rye whiskey (I use Whistle Pig)
1 oz sweet vermouth
A shake if bitters
Two (not one, two!) maraschino cherries on a toothpick.
Shake over ice, serve with cherries.
DRY MARTINI
3 oz vodka
1 oz dry vermouth
1 green olive
1 cocktail onion
1 hour of no responsibilities
Shake over ice, serve with olive and onion.
If you have recommendations for a great coconut daiquiri, drop me a comment!
While many of us are also yearning for cocktails, many of us are just hitting Costco for Margarita mix and adding Tequila pour. Its good too!
This sounds delicious to me!
What. No lemon drop recipe!? I’m bereft.
