INTRODUCING… #GoodFolkFriday
I am just full of helpful hashtags and amazing alliteration. On various Fridays between now and the release of Totally Folked on July 20th, and heck, maybe even after, we’ll feature some feel good stories from around the world. Generally uplifting news surrounding communities and people doing good work. You know, being good folks.
First up is a story I read about an animal shelter in Texas called Safe in Austin (https://www.safeinaustin.org/). They rescue animals from severe abuse or neglect, rehabilitate and rehome the ones that are able, and offer a safe and loving forever home for the rest. From the owner, Jamie Wallace Griner, “Once they are healthy enough and we have earned their trust; we introduce our rescues to children that come from similar backgrounds of abuse, neglect, and/or special needs.”
Here’s the story if you’d like to check it out: https://bit.ly/2RBM1oA

Reading “Mad about Ewe” by Susanah Nix and I find some of your characters in the book Nico, Elizabeth, and Sandra. How did this happen?
By the way I love your books especially those with Cletus in them.
