I’m wrapping up ‘Marriage of Inconvenience’ and it looks like the final word count will surpass 145k words. THEREFORE:
1. If you pre-order the book, it will be $5.99 (pre-order here: http://pennyreid.ninja/book/marriage-of-inconvenience/)
2. If you buy it after day 1, it will be $6.99 (as it is a full 20% longer than my other full length titles– which average 115k words– and, the way the story progressed, probably should have been split into 2 books).
Background: My ebook pricing is based on the length of the title (which is directly related to time, energy, and cost for subcontractors required). Longer books take longer to write, are more expensive to edit/proof/etc. This is why the Rugby books are less expensive than the KITC books (they’re 20% shorter).
So, there you go. I wanted to let you all know ASAP.
I am loving your books! Have you lived in Green Valley and Chicago? I was curious how culturally close the Winston series is to the real area.
I have not! I do love Chicago though. Green Valley Tennessee is based off of a different small town in Tennessee I spent time in for a vacation once 🙂
I nearly gave up on you after your post about cultural appropriation. I grew up in San Antonio, where the culture of Mexico and other Latin countries is celebrated by the entire city! I’m a blonde, blue-eyed Texan. My kids attended Catholic schools, and I’ve had GNO girlfriends throughout that time that were more than happy that I participated in Day of the Dead and Fiesta activities. I can’t imagine the idea of someone saying I’m appropriating their culture. Is Beyoncé doing that when she has blonde hair like me? How about African Americans dressed as leprechauns at Norte Dame? I think people should stop looking for ways to be offended or get their feelings hurt. Should I not write a Latina character in a book when I have a love of the culture? I’m hoping you write what YOU want, not what THEY say you should.
